SUMMER LOOKS FOR JULY FOURTH
3 outfit recommendations for whatever sorts of events you may get up to this July 4th weekend!
Disclaimer: None of the 3 outfits featured in this post follow the typical red, white and blue July 4th look. They are more generally summer looks – bright colors and/or patterns – that I’ve worn to events in the city and can be effortlessly replicated this holiday weekend. This first outfit is a favorite. I wore it to an African art and music event at a rooftop in New York City. The top is actually a romper that had gotten a little too tight on the bottom (them squats x_x). I’m wearing high waisted shorts from American Apparel and a sturdy black belt to sort of transition the shorts and the top. The booties are from H&M and the bag is the Sweet Charity by Christian Louboutin. This look would be great for a barbecue or some other outdoorsy activity.
This second look is an outfit I wore to an all-white boat cruise on the East River. I’m not one for sticking closely to dress codes but that’s a story for another day/another blogpost. This features a simple white top and a floral skirt. It’s a clean, classy look I’d wear to something nice like a fancy brunch or dinner. It wouldn’t be my first pick for a clubbing outfit but it works. The top is from Century 21, the skirt was a gift from Undefined Beauty, the shoes are by Jeffrey Campbell and the bag is the same from the first outfit.
This final look is a modification of an outfit I wore recently to a friend’s graduation party at a rooftop in Long Island City. It’s a versatile look that I’d wear to a brunch, a house party, dinner, drinks, etc. I’d lose the headband and wear this outfit to go clubbing. I got the top off Asos and the skort from Boohoo. The bag is Kate Spade and the shoes are the same as in the previous outfit.
I’m super excited for the weekend ^_^ so much happening. I hope you have a wonderful one x
